Adriana C. Munoz

MUNOZ, ADRIANA CARRASCO, 96, of Paterson born in Rancagua, Chile on March 21, 1923, made her transition on July 11, 2019 in Paterson. Deciding between being an opera singer or nurse, she opted for the nursing program. Starting her career in Chile, she moved to the US and received her BS degree to continue her career as an RN in Iowa. She then settled in NYC Where she married and was employed at Christ Hospital in Jersey City. She and her husband were both members of Riverside Church in NYC. With family, she relocated to Paterson, NJ, in 1963, began employment at Barnert Memorial Hospital until 1977 and became a Public Health Nurse for the Paterson Board of Health, until she retired at age 77. She was a hard worker, a loving and devoted Mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved traveling and family road trips, had a great sense of humor, was an avid reader, and lover of music, nature, flower gardening, animals and walking. She is predeceased by her husband, Bernardo Munoz, her son, Nasir Iddeen (Henry Munoz), sisters, Elena Jana and Christina Morales. She leaves behind her daughter, Rashidah Muhammad (Felicia Boyd), son, Edwin Munoz, grandsons, Qaasim Munoz, Tajideen White, Qareeb Ali Cooper, granddaughter Yullisa Valenzuela, great-granddaughter Sanye Cooper and a host of nieces and nephews to cherish her memory. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, July 18th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Manke Memorial at Scillieri-Arnold Funeral Home, 351 Fifth Avenue, Paterson.
