Ana Maria Gonzalez

GONZALEZ, ANA MARIA, (nee JIMENEZ), 87, of Clifton died peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2024.  

Ana Maria Gonzalez, born on May 20th, 1937 passed away August 22nd, 2024. She was 1 of 15 siblings born to Hermina Flores and Ramón Jimenez in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. Ana studied nursing for a while until she met her first Husband. They lived peacefully with their firstborn Victor before moving to New York City. Since the move to NY, Ana's family began to grow. Mike was next to be born followed by Rich, Ramon, Antonio, and Yolanda. After the passing of her first husband in 1972, she met Salustiano Gonzalez a few years later and remarried. They lived happily and peacefully in Springfield, Massachusetts for the next 35 years, having another son, the youngest named Patrick. Ana lost her husband to cancer ten years ago and moved to Clifton, NJ for a while until she had a stroke which confined her to a nursing home.

 Ana is survived by her remaining six children, nine grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. Our mom had a passion for old classic Latin music and her Puerto Rican food which she couldn't live without. She was our rock and a strong woman who despite a not-so-glorious upbringing managed to raise a great family who made something of themselves and for that, we are all incredibly grateful. Thank you, Mom, we love you and miss you but will never forget you.
