Evelyn J. Mercado

MERCADO, EVELYN J., 64, of Haledon passed away peacefully, after a hard-fought battle with Covid 19, on Sunday, April 19, 2020. Beloved wife of 43 years to Kenny A. Mercado Sr. Loving mother of Gesselle Miller. Devoted sister of Carmen Ramirez, Neftali Ramirez, Myrna Moschou, Alfonso Ramirez, Leonardo Ramirez and Mimi Rios. Cherished grandmother of Rey Miller and Evelyn Mania.
Evelyn was a retired beautician/ barber who worked in Paterson N.J. for many years and loved caring for her clients.
Since then some of her favorite pastimes included going out to dinners with her husband.
Taking long walks with her siblings in the mountains.
Evelyn also enthusiastically enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
She was an avid gamer and enjoyed playing the slots, dominos and constructing puzzles, and was also a very talented seamstress.
Evelyn was mostly known for being a strong spirited, full of laughter, 2-time breast cancer survivor who enjoyed dancing to salsa and loved entertaining family and friends.
She touched so many lives with her charitable spirit. The impact she left on this world and the people who knew her in it, could never be conveyed into words. Evelyn was an amazing person with a pure soul and she will forever be loved and always remembered!
A Graveside Funeral Service and Entombment will be held on Thursday, April 23rd at 11:00 AM at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
