HOLLANDS
John Henry, 87, of Saddle River, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2016. Born in Hornell, NY, he lived in Allendale, NJ for 43 years.
John received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1951 and an M.B.A. in 1952, both from Cornell University. After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, he started his career at Westinghouse Electric in Edison, NJ working in the TV-Radio Division from 1954-1965. John then served as Chairman of BSR (USA) Ltd. in Blauvelt, NY from 1965-1982, and became President of Sony Magnetic Products Company in Park Ridge, NJ in 1982. He then served as Executive Vice President of Sony Corporation of America in 1989, a position he held until his retirement.
John is predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Helen Louise, his parents, Henry and Eloise, and his sister, Mary Provin. He is survived by his children, Wendy Hollands of Greensboro, NC, Robert Hollands and his wife Helen of Gilbert, AZ, Kathryn Zintel and her husband Scott of Warwick, NY, and Christine Tokish and her husband Len of Ramsey, NJ. He is also survived by eight adoring grandchildren: Jeffrey, Sarah, Russell, Daniel, Nicholas, Hannah, Julia, and Olivia.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, August 8th from 4:00-8:00 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey. A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
