HEYTINK, THOMAS LAWRENCE, JR., 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022, with his family by his side. Tom was born on September 24th, 1931 in North Bergen, New Jersey to his mother, Matilda Heytink, and his father, Thomas Heytink Sr. Tom was a son, devoted father, loving husband, grandfather (Papa), brother, and friend to everyone he encountered throughout his life. Tom graduated from Dickinson High School in Jersey City, NJ., and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Tom was a hardworking and driven man who was truly passionate about his career. From working at an automotive dealership in his teen years to owning a gas station and trucking company to driving private limousines following his retirement, Tom had a work ethic like no other.
Tom is survived by his wife, Connie Heytink (Cooper); his four children, Brian, Shari, Cynthia, and Lauren; his six grandchildren, Nicole, Jared, Kelsey, Lindsey, Julia, and Kevin; his brother Gerard Heytink and wife, Roseanne; his god-daughter Lisa; his daughter-in-law Debbie; and his sons-in-law John, Andy, and Ken.
Tom will forever be loved and missed.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 29th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vander Plaat Memorial Home (113 South Fairview Ave, Paramus, NJ 07652) with a service to be conducted at 7:00 PM. Interment will be held on Wednesday, November 30th, at 11:30 AM at George Washington Memorial Park (234 Paramus Rd – Paramus and Century Roads, Paramus, NJ 07653).
